Our church sanctuary was built in the summer of 1935 by a group of Wesleyan Methodists organized on Oct. 5, 1930 by Rev. O.B. Stewart. At that time, they were worshiping in a 3 room home. This marked the beginning of the Alice Wesleyan Methodist Church.

The Church grew mightily under the leadership of Pastor W.R. French (1947 - 53) during which time it was remodeled and enlarged. Pastor French died while pastoring here in 1953, and his wife Katherine carried on the work until conference.

Rev. S.D. Herron followed the Frenchs as pastor and served until 1955. Other notable pastors include Rev. Wade Benjamin, Levi Rigdon, and A.J. Tant.

The Church knew great times of revival during the hard years following the depression, as well as through WWII and the years following. Open air prayer services at the Alice Ball Park, mighty outpourings of God's Spirit, and remarkable conversions characterized those days. Often the side rooms were utilized to accommodate the crowds, with the windows being lifted to allow those on the outside to look in.

In 1981 the Alice Wesleyan Church joined with Arial Wesleyan Church in relocating near Arial, forming
the United Wesleyan Church.

The Bible Methodist people purchased the Alice Wesleyan Church property and occupied it in the summer of 1981, renaming the church Easley Bible Methodist Church. Rev. Bill Bray was the pastor. Rev. Bray later resigned during the winter of 1981.

Pastor John D. Parker came as pastor in July of 1982 and faithfully served until July 2002. Bro. Terry Going became our current pastor in July 2002.

Sensing the need to accommodate growth, the Church Advisory board voted to remove the front porch and add a 21' foyer, nursery and restrooms in the early months of 2001. This will enable us to again open the side rooms, permanently this time, to accommodate the expanding congregation.

We praise the Lord for such a rich heritage and for His present blessings!
